The BSI group of companies

Safety & security white paper released

    30 April 2008

The first in a series of white paper publications – entitled Industry Eye™ - has been released by the BSI group of companies.

The paper – entitled ‘Maximum Security’ – discusses the key issues relating to the safety & security of business traveller and the duty of care obligations of corporate and public sector organisations. Focusing on current government legislation, traveller tracking, crisis management planning, safety & security criteria in hotel selection as well as the role of the agent.

Commenting on the white paper, Charles Cockell, group deputy chairman, said: “The safety and security of company employees travelling on business has been firmly in the spotlight since 9/11 and subsequently the London Bombings. However, it is the Corporate Manslaughter Act, coupled with Health & Safety legislation, that have brought issues such as traveller tracking and security in hotels firmly into focus for travel managers and meeting & event planners.”

But just how much influence does security have on procurement decisions? Is it something you can put a price on? Do lone female traveller schemes work? In the 21st century, surely a safe environment is the entitlement of every hotel guest, regardless of gener? Industry Eye™ - Maximum Security answers these and many more questions.
